Profit tracking when your store is not on Shopify

Markazi Panel5 min readChecked September 2026
Search for a profit dashboard and almost everything you find is a Shopify app. That is not a coincidence — the app store is the distribution channel, so the products get built where the customers already are. If your store runs on WooCommerce, a custom build or your own checkout, most of that market is closed to you, and the honest options are fewer than the search results suggest.

Why the good tools are all Shopify apps

A profit dashboard needs three things: your orders with line items, your product costs, and your ad spend. Shopify hands the first two over through one authorised connection, which makes the product buildable by a small team and installable in a minute. Nothing else in ecommerce offers that, so nothing else gets the same tooling.

The result is that the well-known profit tools — the ones every comparison article lists — are unavailable to a large share of the stores that would benefit most from them.

What is actually open to you

WooCommerce plugins

There are reporting and cost-of-goods plugins for WooCommerce, and if you are on WordPress they are the shortest path. The trade is the usual WordPress one: it lives inside your site, so it shares your site’s performance, updates and failure modes, and reporting queries run against the same database serving your customers.

A spreadsheet

Genuinely the right answer for a lot of stores, and we would rather say so. It costs nothing, it fits your business exactly, and it is completely honest as long as you keep it up. It stops working at the point where reconciling parcels line by line takes longer than the answer is worth — which arrives sooner than most people expect. What that actually costs you is worth reading before you either commit to it or abandon it.

An order-management platform or ERP

Several of these include a profit and loss, and if you already need the operational half — order routing, confirmation calls, returns workflow — the reporting may come free with a purchase you were making anyway. Check specifically whether their profit figure subtracts return freight and courier withholding, because those two are the most commonly missing.

A dashboard that reads your own site

Instead of connecting to a platform’s API, this kind of tool takes a script on your site and your order data directly. It is platform-agnostic by construction, which is exactly why it exists. Markazi Panel is one of these.

Its limitation, said plainly: it does not integrate with Shopify. If you are on Shopify, close this page and use one of the apps — they will serve you better today and we would rather tell you than take the sale. If what you are really weighing is the Shopify bill, what Shopify charges a Pakistani store has the monthly fee in dollars and rupees.

Checked September 2026. Capabilities vary a great deal between products in each column, and they change. Treat this as a map of the categories, not a scorecard of specific tools — and check any individual product against your own two or three must-haves before buying.

The two questions that decide it

  1. Do you need the operational half? If orders, staff and returns are the problem, buy the platform that solves those and take its reporting as a bonus. Do not buy a reporting tool to fix an operations problem.
  2. Do you sell cash on delivery? If you do, return freight and withholding are the two lines that decide whether the business works, and they are the two most frequently absent from a general profit tool built for card-paid markets.

Questions people ask

Can I track profit per order if my store is not on Shopify?
Yes, but the well-known tools will not help — most are Shopify apps. The realistic options are a WooCommerce plugin, a spreadsheet, an order-management platform that includes a P&L, or a dashboard that reads your site directly.
Is there a TrueProfit or BeProfit for WooCommerce?
Not with the same maturity. That category grew inside the Shopify app store, and the equivalents elsewhere are fewer and less complete. It is worth checking what each one does about returns before assuming parity.
Does Markazi Panel work with Shopify?
No. Shopify integration is not built, and we would rather say so on a page like this than let you find out after signing up. If you are on Shopify, the apps in that ecosystem are the better answer today.
What about a custom-built store with its own checkout?
This is the case with the fewest off-the-shelf options, and the one where a site-level dashboard or a spreadsheet are usually the only two realistic answers.
Will a WooCommerce reporting plugin slow my site down?
It can, because it runs inside the same WordPress install and queries the same database that serves your customers. Whether it matters depends on your traffic and hosting, but it is a real trade that a separate tool does not have.
Do I need ad spend in the tool for profit to be meaningful?
For net profit across the business, yes. For profit per order and per product — which is where most decisions are actually made — cost of goods, freight and returns get you most of the way there.
