Courier aggregator, ERP or dashboard: which do you actually need?

Markazi Panel5 min readChecked September 2026
Three different kinds of software get sold to Pakistani COD sellers, and they are routinely compared as if they were the same thing. A courier aggregator gets parcels booked. An order-management system or ERP runs the operation. A dashboard tells you what the numbers did. Most stores need two of the three, and buying the wrong one first is the usual mistake.

The three categories

1. Courier aggregators — getting the parcel out

One screen, several couriers. You compare rates, book a consignment, print a label and track it, without logging into four courier portals. Pakistani sellers typically move between Leopards, TCS, M&P, Trax, PostEx and Daewoo depending on zone and rate, and an aggregator is what makes that practical.

Buy one when: booking parcels is manual, or you are on one courier because switching is a hassle rather than because they are the best. It will not tell you whether an order was profitable.

2. Order management and ERP — running the operation

The widest category and the most expensive. Order routing and screening, confirmation calls, fraud and duplicate detection, rider handover, returns workflows, inventory, sometimes accounting and payroll. These are operating systems for a business, and several of the Pakistani ones also reconcile courier settlement files against orders.

Buy one when: the constraint is people and process — orders being missed, parcels going out wrong, cash not reconciling, staff spending the day in WhatsApp. Be aware: this is the category that takes months to adopt, because it changes how people work rather than what they can see.

3. Dashboards — knowing what happened

These read what already exists — your orders, your traffic, your costs — and answer questions. Which product actually makes money after freight and returns. Which channel brings buyers rather than visitors. What last month left you with once the courier had deducted everything.

Buy one when: the operation works and you still cannot answer “did that month go well?” without an evening in a spreadsheet. It will not book a parcel or call a customer. Markazi Panel is in this category, and only this one.

How to tell which one you are short of

Three questions, and the answers rarely disagree.

  1. Where does your day go? Booking parcels and chasing couriers means an aggregator. Chasing orders, staff and returns means order management. Neither, and you are short of a dashboard.
  2. What can you not answer? “Where is parcel 4471902” is an operations question. “Which of my products actually makes money” is a dashboard question. They are not solved by the same purchase.
  3. What broke most recently? A parcel going to the wrong address is operations. Discovering a bestseller has been losing money for four months is measurement.

The overlap, said honestly

These categories are not clean. Several Pakistani order-management platforms include a P&L and an analytics dashboard, and if you are already buying one of those, you may not need a separate dashboard at all. That is a real answer and we would rather give it than pretend otherwise — but it is not the answer for every store, and the cases where it is not are specific enough to name.

Where a separate dashboard earns its place: when your store runs on its own website rather than a platform those tools integrate with; when you want the traffic side and the money side in one place; or when the operations software you already have reports revenue but not what survived the courier. Those are the honest cases, and there are stores that fit none of them.

Questions people ask

Do I need a courier aggregator and a dashboard, or just one?
Most growing stores end up with both, because they solve different problems — one gets parcels out of the door, the other tells you whether it was worth sending them. If you must pick one first, pick the one that matches where your day currently goes.
Does an ERP replace a dashboard?
Sometimes. Several of the Pakistani platforms include a P&L and analytics. Check specifically whether their profit figure subtracts return freight and courier withholding, because those are the two most commonly missing.
What is the cheapest way to start?
A spreadsheet and one courier portal, honestly. It works until order volume makes the manual reconciliation slower than the software would have been — usually somewhere in the low hundreds of orders a month.
Do these tools work if my store is not on Shopify?
It varies a lot and it is the first thing to check. Many connect only to Shopify and WooCommerce. If you run a custom site or your own checkout, ask before you buy.
Which category handles RTO?
Operations software manages the returns workflow. A dashboard tells you what RTO is costing you. Both are useful and neither substitutes for the other.
Can one tool do all three?
Some claim to. In practice the breadth costs depth somewhere, and the place it usually costs it is the profit arithmetic — which is easy to display and hard to get right.

The short version

Buy an aggregator if parcels are the bottleneck. Buy order management if people and process are. Buy a dashboard if the operation is fine and you still cannot say what a month earned you. If you want to see what that last question looks like answered, the arithmetic on a single order is the whole argument in one page.
